Beside our personal projects filmed at the Rassay we were also working with 360 degree THETA cameras to create team project presented on Wonda platform. We were suppose to divide into groups and use 360 camera to capture an environment that we thought would be interesting for an audience to see. I was in the group with George and Jayian. We mostly focused on the land : slopes, deeps, interesting views; I was pleased to film under the see videos from the boat which was for me one of the best experiences.
Next phrase was editing of the 360 footage we all took at the Island. Again we had to split into smaller groups with focus on different areas of the Island. These groups were : Land, Sea, River and Woods. I joined the group working on the footage of the Land. Each of us chose 3 to 4 videos and edit them in Premiere pro. Editing was since we needed to cut just beginning and the end of the clips so people setting up Theta cameras and then coming to turn them of will be not on the clip.
When we came into the phrase of making the Wonda site, I immediately jointed the team which was responsible for the structure and design of the page. For my FMP I chose to work with Klynt platform so see and learn how the Wonda works was very important learning step to develop my skills which I can use for my own good during my FMP.
We started making the structure on the paper and discuss the sit map with other teams to make compromise and came up with final design. Necessity was to begin with landing page and then start with connecting all the strings of the "Wonda spider web" which links the different sections of the page and create clickable prototype.
Some of the groups were making design for buttons or choosing font etc. Beside all of this each of us needed to come up with artist statement for their own Poetic piece which is also presented on the Wonda website.
I took the role responsible for design of creating of the final look of the laning page; first attempt which was creating the map of the Rassay displayed island inside the inverted 360 globe did not work as good as we thought.
The design that i was working on consists of 5 separate videos each presenting one of the topics : Land, Sea, River, Woods and Poetic works.
All these entrances are presented as a doors which open different worlds in 360 world; works in virtual reality so user needs to ether turn the screen, swip with finger or just look around using VR googles to see the doors around him and choose the one he wants to see and open to get more of the content available inside every section. Every section of course allows the user to press Home or Back button for easier navigation and user friendly interaction.
Unfortunately I cannot present the Final result of the project since the class finished before finishing the last steps. I tried to help as much as I could and I will display the link for the final work as soon as I will recieve it from the Head of the project who is my classmate Matt Prentice; he did the most of the work and deserve big thanks from all members of the team working on Wonda project.
Jan,
Your contribution to the curate project was very good. You were involved in creating and editing 360 video content within your themed group and the outcome of these films are good. You also spent time working on the landing page animation for the Wonda project. The outcome of this was visually interesting and you continued to improve the edits. The use of splitting the frame worked well. You also showed keen interest in wanting to learn how to use Wonda’s interface. Your blog was a good reflection of the creative and technical process. Well done.
